After about four decades, Sandra Amstein is handing over the department management of the Bucher Incoming division. The succession could be arranged with two tourism professionals from our own ranks.
"After more than 39 years at Bucher Incoming, a new phase of life is beginning for our department head Sandra Amstein; she will begin her personal journey into a well-deserved retirement on July 7, 2023," announces Mario Würsch, co-owner, managing director and chairman of the board of Bucher Travel Inc. This also sets a milestone in the history of the Bucher Incoming department: a kind-hearted woman full of power, enormous expertise and a huge network is handing over her department to new hands.
Sandra Amstein - Incoming travel as a vocation
Thanks to Sandra Amstein's wealth of experience and tireless commitment, Bucher Incoming has grown over the years from a handful of employees to a high-performance team of fourteen. Sandra Amstein has made a name for herself in the industry and far beyond the national borders and is one of the important pillars of the company. "We would like to thank Sandra for everything she has done for us over the course of almost four decades, and sincerely wish her a fulfilling retirement - with many wonderful trips through Switzerland, of course," describes Würsch. It is particularly valuable that Sandra Amstein will be a mentor to the two new managers and the team until her retirement.
Two young tourism professionals take over
"We are happy and proud that we were able to arrange the succession internally," Mario Würsch is pleased to say. The management of Bucher Incoming will be taken over by the current deputy department manager Karin Zumbühl. She will take over on March 1, 2023. Karin Zumbühl has been with Bucher Travel since August 2015 and holds a 'Bachelor of Science FHO in Tourism' with a specialization in Transportation, issued by the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) Chur.
The previous senior operations manager, Sandro Waller, takes on the role of deputy department manager. Sandro Waller has been with the company for 10 years and holds a degree in tourism from HFT Lucerne. As long-time employees, both are familiar with the peculiarities of the company down to the last detail and are well prepared for the tasks ahead.
