Bucher Travel Inc. is expanding its business activities to Täsch/Zermatt in the Swiss canton Valais. The acquisition of “Alphubel Taxi & Limousine Service” in Täsch will strengthen the company’s operations in Valais and throughout Switzerland.
Bucher Travel Inc, headquartered in Dierikon next to Lucerne, will take over the operational business of “Alphubel Limousine & Taxi Service” in Täsch on 1 July 2023. The current owners and managing directors Doris and Beat Lauber have successfully run the company for the past 29 years. “It was our wish to find a competent partner for our succession solution who would take over the business with our employees and continue to run it with the same philosophy. We are proud that we have succeeded in doing so with Bucher Travel Inc.,” Doris and Beat Lauber are pleased to announce.
Proven team continues on the road
Bucher Travel Inc. is taking over all employees, the office and vehicle maintenance facilities, underground parking spaces for its own company vehicles, and valet parking for customer vehicles at Kantonsstrasse 153 in Täsch. The acquisition expands the passenger transport services of the Bucher Bus division (Bus & Limousine Service) and optimizes the use of the fleet of 29 vehicles, ranging from limousines to double-decker motor coach. To ensure a smooth transition, Doris and Beat Lauber will remain with Bucher Travel Inc. and the “Alphubel Limousine & Taxi Service” team for the next months.
Optimal fleet utilization
“Due to the size of our own vehicle fleet and the seasonal nature of the Bucher Bus division, we were looking for a suitable location where we could also use the vehicles during the winter months,” explains Mario Würsch, managing director, co-owner and chairman of the board of Bucher Travel Inc. The perfect solution was found with their long-standing partner Alphubel Taxi & Limousine Service. “The quality and professionalism with which this company is managed, together with the location of the business premises directly opposite the Matterhorn Terminal, impressed us right from the start,” continues Mario Würsch.
Strengthening cooperation in Zermatt
Zermatt is one of the most important holiday destinations in Switzerland for Bucher Travel Inc. The “Bucher Incoming” leisure division has been booking high-end tourism services in the Matterhorn village for years. In addition, the “Bucher Events” team regularly organizes incentives in Zermatt for companies from around the world. “Thanks to the new business activity in Täsch, we can now offer passenger transport with our own vehicles from two locations,” says Mario Würsch.
The Zermatt-based “Stoked Group”, a long-time partner of Bucher Travel Inc. with almost 30 years of local experience in ski and snowboard schools, event management, boot fitting and biomechanics, supports the new business activity as a strategic local partner.
